I'm closing in on the end of The Brakan Correspondent, my novel-in-progress. Based on the entry below, it looks like I've been fussing with this monster for two years. Considering the manuscript's biceps-building mass, I guess I'm not doing so bad.
Um . . . editors do base their decisions on the weight of the manuscript, don't they?
I've had a few successes lately: two manuscripts accepted by Continuum, a print zine, and one accepted (soon to be published) by Neverary, a spec fiction zine. "Sex and the Single Wendigo" should be out this August at The Dark Krypt.

I write science fiction, if you can call it that. Those wankers who insist on pigeon-holing everything would, I suppose, call my stuff "soft" or "social" science fiction. My stories are obsessed with how people find meaning through their work, or (more often) become whores in their professions; relentless bitter condemnation of bureaucratic and religious hypocrisy; obsession with animals, sex, and food, usually not all together.
I've finished two novellas and four short stories. All four are under submission. The novellas are on the back-burner; I'm too wrapped up in my NiP (The Brakan Correspondent) to worry about a couple of wordy novellas. My NiP will serve as prequel to the monster novel I've been grinding on for the last 2.5 years (Karakoram).
